Vodafone Paging Network Closure

Background

Earlier this year Vodafone announced that they will be closing their wide-area national paging network on 31st March 2018.

This means that any of our existing pager users with the dial codes:

07699 XXXXXX
07659 XXXXXX
07666 XXXXXX
07663 XXXXXX

will no longer be able to use their paging services after that date.

Current Position

The current Vodafone paging service will remain unaffected until the above mentioned closure date.

However, pager users with the numbers listed above are advised to contact us as soon as possible, so that we can provide information and pricing for alternative pagers.

What if I don’t do anything?

Vodafone will turn off their paging network on 31st March 2018. If you have not arranged replacement pagers by that time your paging service will cease.

What about my pager number?

Vodafone are unable to transfer existing pagers numbers so we will provide your replacement pagers with new PageOne pager numbers.

What is PageOne’s network coverage?

PageOne’s extensive UK network provides coverage to 98% of the population however there are always differences between radio-based networks.

We will be able to give you an indication of whether PageOne can provide coverage in your area.

If there are any specific areas where coverage is problematic we have a number of options that can be considered including different pager types, additional transmitters or boosters.

What Help/Advice are you able to provide?

Since Vodafone’s announcement we have been working with both Vodafone and PageOne to mitigate the effects of the closure for our existing and potential new customers.

We believe that our knowledge and experience of both the Vodafone and PageOne networks places us in a unique position to offer help and advice.

If you would like to discuss the implications of Vodafone's decision, please call us 01869 811411 or e-mail customer.services@pagers.co.uk.
